Clear information for the work ahead.
A clear survey gives your team a practical starting point for the work ahead. MC Pro Services reviews the accessible condition and operation of existing fire doors, records visible defects and identifies matters requiring further technical review. We agree the doors, checks, access arrangements and reporting format before attending, so the findings can be used to plan a defined remedial programme.
What the service can include
- Door references, locations and available product identification
- Visual checks of the leaf, frame, seals, hinges, glazing and other accessible components within the agreed scope
- Checks of closing, latching, visible gaps and signs of damage or alteration
- Photographs and notes linked to individual doors
- Identification of potential remedial actions and issues needing specialist or manufacturer input
- A clear record of inaccessible areas, missing evidence and survey limitations
The intended outcome
A door-by-door record of the agreed checks, visible defects, photographs, access limitations and recommended next steps, ready for your project team to review and develop into a supported scope of works.
Need a different starting point? Explore our condition and remedial surveys, measured replacement surveys, or remedial works. Survey findings and the subsequent works are scoped and quoted separately.

Tell us what you need the survey to achieve. We will confirm the checks and reporting route before agreeing the visit.
- Site postcode, building use, approximate door numbers and number of buildings.
- Existing door schedules, fire strategy or previous reports, where available.
- Whether you require a non-intrusive survey or separately agreed opening-up checks.
- Access arrangements, working hours, target dates and report template or client platform.
The standard scope is non-intrusive and limited to accessible areas. Opening-up, making good and specialist investigation are agreed separately. A condition survey does not establish the fire-resistance rating of an unidentified doorset and is not a fire risk assessment or independent certification. Proposed repairs require suitable product evidence and technical approval where needed.
